In this DRG snapshot, David talks about his experiences in growing DRG.

What do you think is the key to successful consulting?

Our clients say they are looking for people who can quickly grasp the complexity of their issues and genuinely problem solve a way forward that they either weren’t seeing by themsleves or do not have the time, skills or resources to properly investigate by themselves. Importantly, they want those same people to be able to take them forward, not just tell them the way forward. As simple as it sounds, they also want to trust who they choose, to have confidence in their abilities and to be able to get on well with them.

What are the strengths of the key services you offer?

Developing a Growth Strategy
We are seeing a growing appreciation for our approach to helping our clients grow strategically. Our consultants are able to deliver genuine direction to our customers by taking them through the key steps all businesses need to go through when heading for their next growth stage.  We are able to bring a lot more clarity to where they want to go, determine what's the best way to get there, and where best to invest their marketing and sales dollar.  Importantly, we also have the skills to help implement the recommendations we make.

Researching Your Clients
We are also finding increasing acceptance for our approach to Marketing Research and Client Perception Surveys. We have already completed a number of these projects for our SME clients. The feedback we are gaining for our customers is really helping them shape not only the way they market and sell, but also the direction of their business. We recently undertook a very successful project for the Grain Pool of WA, where we were able to research their customers in China and Japan using native speakers of the languages. This is an exciting area of growth for DRG, particularly given the significance of China and Japan to business in WA at the moment.

Effective selling
No two businesses are alike; no two sales cultures are alike; and no two people are alike. Different businesses have different challenges and the one size fits all approach just won’t work when you are dealing with creating solutions and improvements for specific sales problems. Our approach to improving sales is individually tailored. It takes into account the unique challenges of your business and the individual development needs of your people. We like to get down to the detail and find out what is really going on. This is what our clients say they really like.
